Arks-shay by Amson-say

Do you know how many sharks there are in the world? Well there are up to 368 different kinds of sharks.

Do you know what the weirdest shark in the ocean is? The answer is the Goblin shark. Goblin sharks lives on squid, shrimp, various fish, and other sharks. One of my favorite sharks is the Angel shark. Angel sharks are bottomdwellers. They camoflauge in with the sand. It helps them hide from predators. Blue sharks' nickname is "The wolf of the Sea{" The Whale Shark is a shark that looks like a whale. It is the biggest shark in the ocean. It can grow up to 50 feet long and weigh up to 50 tons. Bull sharks have been known to swim in fresh water.

micro things

Spores make fungi and make food rot. Spores are micrerscopic. Spores color microbes.

Fungus needs to grow in a warm miost place to survive.

tornadoes by jabari

I learned in Twister Trouble twisters have the strongest winds on earth. To make weather you need these ingredients-- air water and heat. I did not even know that we could make weather.
twisters another word for tornado. tornados come from cumulonimbus clouds .Clouds can tell the exsreamly the way they look. tornado is powerful wisting wind sorm. The winds of a tornado are the most violent wind that occur on earth. They whirl around the cnter of the storm at speed of more than 200 miles 320 kilometers per hour. Most tornados measure severl hundred yards or meters in diameter ,and many caused wide spread distruction.T make wather you need tree ingredients:air water and heat.Air contains watten in te form of gas called watten vapor. When te sun heat te earth te air riss.As the air rise it cools and the water vapor tuers in to water droplets.

AT the top of a tornado it gets slower. Because things spin faster at the bottom.Tornadoes can be one fo the most dangeors waethers on earth.Tornadoes for me were very interresting because there are so many kinds.

Violently rotating column of air extending from within a thundercloud down to ground level. Tornadoes vary in diameter from tens of meters to nearly 2 km (1 mi), with an average diameter of about 50 m (160 ft). Peak wind speeds can range from near 120 km/h (75 mph) to almost 500 km/h (300 mph). Keep in mind tornados are super powerful

Sharks by audrey aberg

Tide Pool Life

Here are some basic laws of survival that animals should know.1. Keep from being washed away by high tide waves.2.Keep from drying out in the sun at low tide.3. Most importantly keep from being eaten! You might need these rules sometime!

Sound by: Sam

Sound waves are made in vibration. When you speak, a vibration comes out of your mouth. The higher the sound, the closer the waves. The lower the sound the farther the waves. Echos are a type of sound. Some animals use sounds. Bats use echos to see in the dark. That is called echolocation. Sounds are very important.

electricity by will

Electricity is awesome! I found a awesome kit that gives you electricity experiments that are so cool! I learned that if you connect both ends of a alligator wire to the same battery it will break.GET THAT BOOK!!!!!!!! If you dont, you will be sorry

Oceans and Sharks! by Bria

Did you know that Oceans cover three-quarters of the earth's surface? Actully, the earth has just one big ocean. But it is divided into five main oceans that we call the five oceans. You can sail in a boat from one main area to the other areas, because they're all connected. The Pacific Ocean is the biggest and deepest. The Atlantic is the second biggest. Also there is the Indian ocean, the Antarctic ocean, and the Arctic ocean.

Can you belive that Sharks are fish? I thought they were mammals. Anyway, they ARE fish. But, even though they are fish, they do not have bones like other fish. Their skeletons are made of a tough material called cartilage. It's the same thing thats in human noses and ears. Sharks also have gills. Sharks live throughout the five main oceans. Can you belive that there are 368 known species of sharks! A shark can be as long as your hand ( the seven-inch Spined Pygmy shark)

Bones By Mikayla

Collarbones stick out of your body. It comes from the ribs to the shoulders. Another word for it is clavicle.

The lower jawbone is really the only bone we can move. Skulls are made of 22 different bones. Is that weird or what? It has 14 bones to make-up the face. Wow I only thought it was 9. The cranium is the hard part of the bone that protects the brain. That's a lot of pratection. The teeth are a spongy bone that make-up the jaw. Bones grow before you are born. They are soft and rubbery. It is named cartilage. I thought that they were the bone, but I'm wrong.

Some animals don't have the same bones as us. They don't have backbones either. Instead they have are invertebrates.

Feet have 52 of the 206 bones in your body. That's more than all of the bones in your hand. Feet bones are longer than the hand bones. The feet are shaped so that you would be balanced and wone't fall. The feet are flexible and can bend as you walk because they have so many bones, helping us walk on all kinds of surfaces.

Muscles give us strength so we can pick up things. With no muscles we can't go nowhere fast. Muscles also give us the power to move and give us strength.

Our joints move backward and forward. Joints bend aand swivel. They move side to side and rotate.

Bones are held in places at the joint with stretchy LIGAMENTS. People can bend and twist their body like pretzels because their ligaments are extra long and strecthy. If you weigh fifty pounds only about ten of those pounds are in your bones. Your bones are so light that your skeleton is less than one fifth of a persons total body weight.

The Arctic by' me

The polar bear is the worlds most dangerous pray to hunt. because you could get hunted yourself. Normally when a Eskimo goes out hunting for a polar bear they bring along 11 to 12 huskies for the sake of being killed. The arctic fox changes its fur color 2 times a year. In the winter the arctic fox changes its color to white, so that he or she can camouflage in the snow. When it is not winter, the color is regular, brownish black. Polar bears have a thick layer of blubber and hollow fur that helps hold in their body's heat. Hamster like creatures called lemmings, have fury bodies and dig underground tunnels. Musk oxen have a two layered coat of fur. Seals have a thick layer of blubber like the polar bear.

Germs

Hi! My name is Zoe.At school we each choose a science project.I am doing one about germs.A  Germ is also called a microbe. There are five different types of germs;Fungi, Algee, Prozonta, Bactera and Viruses. Some Microbes are good and get rid of toxic waste. Bye!

Tidal Pool Animals

At school we are doing science projects based on Magic School Bus books. I'm reading about tidal pool animals. Did you know that crabs have gills like fish? Barnacles stick to Whales and rocks. Also my friend Michal (she is a girl) has a Hermit Crab. Her name is Bethany. She has the American flag painted on her shell. Bethany is scared of loud noises. She also sleeps aaalllooottt. Did you know that Acorn Barnacles make a special glue and stick themselves to rocks? Tidal pools are places in the rocks that hold ocean water. Once, I slipped into a tidal pool in Conneticut at a beach with shallow water and jellyfish.

bugs

Inesects the word's srangest creater.Out of  things they are the smallest  but they weigh the most.I know a man face bug wich has a man's face like the man on the moon. Then the dragonfly. Some day soon it will be over for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So get ready to die.

Penguins

Did you know that their are more than 14 types of penguins? Well there are. Here they are: Erect-
crested penguins,Magellanic penguins, Fiordland, Macaroni, Rockhopper, Gal'apagos, King,
Al'elie, African,Little Blue penguins,Yellow Eyed, Humboldt, Snares. Ade'lie penguin have a pattern called The Chinstrap Pattern. There are 17 species of penguins. 4 species of live in Antarctica. All penguins are warm blooded. Penguins can't fly because there wings are to short. Penguins can't walk softly. They can only walk hardly. I wonder why? If you have a suggestion, please leave a comment. Adult Ad'elie penguins have no natural predators on land. Adelie penguins have their young in the warm weeks of the summer. Penguins shed there hair in hot air. Adelie penguins live in Antarctica & other islands.Penguins eat krill, fish, & squid.
I wonder how old penguins get?

Simple Electricity by Patrick

Electricity can be awesome. But the coolest thing about it is, the simplicity of it. So this blog is about The Book Series of the Magic School Bus. But this page is about one of the books,THE ELECTRIC FIELD TRIP.If you read it, it has some pretty cool facts. You can do some experiments that have the simplicity of ectricity. You really have to read it. But a better book to do experiments with is electricity. It's called, Electricity. You can find it at a teacher's store, called Lakeshore Learning. I have no idea where it is, but I insist you check it out!
